This is the 18th century home of a wealthy merchant in Bikaner, India. Because I wanted to show all of the incredible detail with a minimum of contrast, I made a 5-frame HDR composite. I used a Sigma 14mm f/1.8 wide angle lens to shoot this, and that’s why the depth of field is so extensive especially since I was so close to the foreground archway. I asked the model to walk back and forth several times until everyone in my photo tour group was happy with what they were able to capture. When shooting in HDR mode with a moving subject, you have to select one of the frames in which the subject looks good and then composite that back into environment. My settings were f/11, 320 ISO, and the shutter speed varied per the HDR.
