One of the private shoots I set up in Venice during carnival is one in a traditionally appointed bedroom. The walls are covered in fabric, as they were in medieval times, the sconces are elegant, and the window lighting is classic. Here I used one of the sconces as the main light source. I told my tour participants to set their white balance to 2900 degrees Kelvin because the room lights were a little warmer than the traditional tungsten bulbs. White balance can always be corrected in post-processing, but I like to see correct colors when I take the shots. My settings were 1/160, f/7.1, and 6400 ISO.
