One of the more unique and intriguing locations in Venice to shoot is the Scala Contarini del Bovolo, a spiral staircase made of stone and brick commissioned in the year 1489. It takes a lot of coordination to bring together a group of costumed models, but my friend Robin Yang is a mastermind at organizing this for me. Thanks so much, Robin, and thank you to all the wonderful models in their amazing costumes who participated. The spiral staircase is 7 stories tall, although this photograph shows only two stories. I shot this with a 105mm focal length, and my settings were 1/400, f/4.0, and 500 ISO. Depth of field was not a factor here because at this distance, all the models were essentially on the same plane.
