I just returned home after researching a photography tour to my neighboring state, Georgia, to photograph abandoned ruins. It was quite an education. I had no idea I would find so many amazing subjects to shoot. In addition to abandoned properties such as railroads, grist mills, rusted out cars, old mansions, and more, my wife and I also found some very photogenic subjects typical of country folk with an artistic flair. For example, this 1940's era truck was engulfed in beautiful flowers and placed in front of a parking lot adjacent to a small pharmacy in rural Georgia. It was one of those great finds that makes your day. The early morning sun was front lighting the scene perfectly. My settings were 1/500, f/13, and 1250 ISO, and I used a 105mm focal length on a 24-105mm Canon lens.
