I've thought about organizing a tour in Europe just to photograph great staircases because I love shooting them. This amazing staircase is in the Hide Restaurant in Picadilly Circus in London -- I chose to eat here just because I wanted to photograph the unique design. I used the Sigma 14mm f/1.8, and the settings were 1/100, f/8, and 2500 ISO. The upper left section was actually a white wall, and I didn't think that looked right. So I took literary license and covered it up with more stairs from another one of the images I took. In my world, artistry trumps reality. In post-processing, I added contrast and clarity plus a touch of vibrance to add visual impact.

Jim - I'll think about it, Chuck. The biggest challenge is logistics, but I'll try to make it work.

Chuck Janus - Jim A workshop photographing staircases in Europe is brilliant. Please let me know when this could be a possibility. Still teaching dentistry at VCU in Richmond, so need time to request leave. It would be great to see you at all these years! Best Chuck
