The reason I love staying in the St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel in London is because of this staircase. There are so many great compositions of it. I took this shot at night so none of the ambient light entering through large windows would be relevant. This is an 8-frame pano with each frame overlapped by about 50%. I used my Sigma 14mm f/1.8 wide angle for each shot. I then stitched the images together in Photoshop. My settings were 1/80, f/1.8, and 2000 ISO. I hand held the camera, and it was only the large lens aperture that allowed me to use an ISO setting relatively low in the very dim lighting. The ultra wide lens does distort everything, but distortion is not necessarily pejorative.
