One of the highlights of my Abandoned in Georgia photo tour is this abandoned mental hospital in Milledgeville. It was founded as the Georgia State Lunatic, Idiot, and Epileptic Asylum in 1842. An 'idiot' as defined by mental health workers back then was a person with an IQ of 0-25. I rended the image in black and white because one of the couples in my group only do high quality, very dynamic fine art black and white photographs and I was trying to see things through their eyes. Besides, the decaying remains of this facility seemed more gritty, more intriguing in monochrome. I used a 24-105mm lens, and my settings were 1/80, f/18, and 1600. In post-processing, I added a lot of contrast and clarity to make the black and white tones particularly dynamic.
