This stunning structure was originally a plantation house built in 1820 in Sparta, Georgia. It is now in ruins, but much of the original artistry in the design and the paint can still be seen. I took many angled shots of the house; however, the best view in my opinion was from straight-on. I used a 58mm focal length on a 24-105mm lens, and the settings were 1/250, f/16, and 1250 ISO. I used a small aperture to make sure the small trees, which were about 15 to 30 feet in front of the house, were as sharp as the facade. I added a dramatic sky in Photoshop using one of the dozens of sky images I have from my photo library.
