This is the interior of the Saints Cyril and Methodius Church in Ljubljana, Slovenia. It was built in the 1930's, and it's one of the most beautiful interiors I've ever seen. It is for photographic situations like this one that I purchased the Sigma 14mm f/1.8 super wide angle lens. It's sharp from edge to edge, and the unusually large lens aperture allows me to use shutter speeds fast enough to get sharp pictures without a tripod. So often tripods are prohibited in cathedrals, museums, tombs, etc., and a fast lens is indispensable. My settings were 1/40, f/2.5, and 5000 ISO. With a wide angle lens, you can get away with slower shutter speeds and still get sharp pictures. I would never use a shutter of 1/40th of a second when using a telephoto lens.

Barbara Vickers - Hi Jim, What a beautiful church that must be - it looks awesome in your great photo. Have you a photo of the outside of the church also?
