Here is another picture of a male resplendent quetzal in flight. Because we were shooting early in the morning when the light level was low, high ISO settings were necessary to keep the shutter speed fast. To maintain a reasonable ISO number, I tend to underexpose the images by about one f/stop. In post-processing, I can increase the exposure to compensate, and any noise increase in that process is better than using sky-high ISO settings like 10,000 to 25,000. My settings for this shot were 1/3200, f/7.1, and 6400 ISO.
