This is a well-known photo location in Arches National Park. It is Turret Arch seen through the North Window. Both sunrise and sunset are beautiful here. I shot this with a 24mm focal length, and my settings were 1/10, f/4, and 400 ISO. Because the elements closest to the camera were relatively distant -- I estimate about 50 to 75 feet -- a small lens aperture wasn’t necessary to maintain complete depth of field. It was the inherent DOF characteristic of wide angle lenses that provided sharp focus throughout the image. Notice how the dawn colors reflected in the sandstone.
