This picture of Avalanche Creek in Glacier National Park was originally taken with Fujicrhome Velvia 50 transparency film in the 90's. The colors are not enhanced. However, I revisited this image and, after the 6x7cm transparency was scanned by an Imacon scanner, I brought it into Adobe Camera Raw and lightened the shadows. With slide film, if contrast was a problem, there was nothing we could do. But when a film image is digitized and brought into ACR or Lightroom, it can be improved quite a bit. I was actually surprised how much the dark shadows could be improved. I took this shot from a bridge that spanned the creek with a Mamiya 7 and a 43mm wide angle lens (the lens was equivalent to approximately a 21mm lens in the full frame digital format). I remember the shutter speed was one full second, and the aperture was f/32.
