This is a well-known vantage in Bruges, Belgium, that photographers always want to capture. The canals, the artful lighting, and the medieval architecture all go into making a wonderful image. To capture the entire sweep of the scene, I took a 7-frame panorama that I then stitched together in Photoshop. I tend not to like the aspect ratio of panos, though. They are so long and narrow and I'm accustomed to the 2 x 3 ratio that our digital cameras take. So, in Photoshop, I used Image > canvas size to expand the sky to approximately a 2 x 3 format, and then I replaced the original sky using Edit > sky replacement with a sky I shot two evenings ago. Note that had I simply used a wide angle lens and taken a single picture of this scene, the elements would appear farther away than they actually were. Because I took a panorama sequence of shots, I was able to show the entire width of the scene without making the architecture seem like it was farther away than it really was.
