This is a mirrored image of a section of canal in Brugge, Belgium. My photography tour group were on a bridge shooting a church reflecting in the canal, but in back of us, opposite the church, was this beautiful architecture fringing the water. So, I took the shot and in Photoshop, I pumped the colors and mirrored the image. Here are the steps I used to create the mirror: 1) Copy the image to the clipboard, 2) use Image > canvas size to double the width of the picture, 3) paste the clipboard image into the shot with Edit > paste, 4) choose Edit > transform > flip horizontal, 5) use the move tool to move the mirrored component in place, 6) finally, Image > flatten image. This produced a panorama-type proportion, so I resized the file so it was a 2 x 3 ratio typical of all the pictures we take. This compressed the buildings. Finally, I replaced the cobalt blue sky with bluish storm clouds. My settings for the original capture were 1/80, f/5.0, and 12,800 ISO. The ISO was so high because I wasn't using a tripod.
