In Myanmar, young novice monks are a favorite subject of mine, and I ask them to pose in various situations throughout the country. This Buddhist temple is located on the shores of Inle Lake, and the interior is very dark. The three candles I added created nice ambience but didn't add anything to the exposure. Therefore, I had to lower the shutter speed below what I'm comfortable with. However, when using a wide angle lens and hand holding it, camera movement is less apparent. In other words, you can get away with slower shutter speeds. My settings for this picture were 1/40, f/6.3, and 5000 ISO. I used a 16mm focal length and asked the boys, through my local guide, to stay as still as possible.
