I set this shot up in a 16th century palace in Venice during one of my recent photo workshops there. I rent the harp and arrange the models so my group can get a perfect shot of what might be a costumed ball celebrating the carnival. I used a 26mm focal length on a 16-35mm wide angle, and my settings were 1/80, f/5.0, and 2500 ISO. Even though this is an interior shot, the women were illuminated by a large window on the wall behind me, so I elected to use daylight white balance. That's why the tungsten sconces are so yellow in color. Most of these models know how to pose extremely well as if they were professionals. Nevertheless, part of my job as a photographer is to quickly scan the scene to make sure hands are placed well, heads are turned appropriately, and the arrangement of the models looks good.
