During my annual Carnival in Venice photo workshop, I arrange for models to be photographed in various places that offer wonderful backgrounds and environments. This is the 'boudoir' I use because it has traditional Venetian decor. The walls consist of padded fabric which became popular in the European Middle Ages. This is one of my favorite models, Florine Houee; I've been photographing her since 2006. Every year she comes with 3 or 4 costumes. In this room, I use only available light plus the two sconces. Some of the people in my workshop ask me to turn the sconces off because they feel they're distracting, but I like them. I hand hold the camera even though a tripod would allow a lower ISO. M settings were 1/200, f/5.0, and 20,000 ISO. In retrospect, I should have used a slower shuttter speed to lower the ISO, but using Topaz DeNoise AI eliminated virtually all the noise.
