My wife and I had one more night on our research trip for the Michigan Historic Lighthouse photo tour that will be done in October, and we spent it in Chicago. It's her birthday today, so we had a beautiful dinner in the London House, and we stayed here, too, specificially for the spectacular view of the city from the rooftop bar on the 22nd floor. It overlooks the Chicago River, and at twilight it is truly spectacular. This is an 8-frame stitched pano taken with a 16-35mm wide angle lens holding the camera vertically (some people say 'portrait format'). My settings were determined by a few test exposures, and they were 1/80, f/4, and 6400. There were too many people enjoying the view to use a tripod, so each of the frames were hand held. 6400 ISO on the Canon R5 is now a no-brainer, especially with noise-mitigrating software in post-processing.
