This is the view of the Chicago River from the Royal Sonesta Hotel. I took the picture through glass, but it's impossible to see any image degradation. I did a 7-frame HDR composite with one f/stop increments to be able to retain detail in the shadows as well as the highlights. In post-processing, I added clarity and color saturation. My lens was a 24-105mm, and I used a tripod. I had to turn off all the lights in the hotel room so there weren't any reflections back into the lens. My settings were f/5.0 and 1600 ISO. The shutter speed varied to give me the spread of bracketed exposures.
