I'm in Chicago now starting my Chicago by Night photo tour. The architecture here is second to none, and at night (or dawn) it's a magical place to photograph. This is the famous Bean, i.e. Cloud Gate, in Millennium Park. The only way to photograph this well-visited icon without any people is very early in the morning. Otherwise, there are literally hundreds of people here all the time. I took this picture at 4:30am. The exposure makes it look like daytime lighting, but that's because I used settings to reveal all the detail in the near-darkness of dawn. My settings were 1/10, f/5.0, and 2500 ISO. I used a tripod and a 24-105mm lens. I took many wide angle shots as well, which I also like, but this 105mm focal length gave me a different kind of picture from all the variations of this I've seen.
