This is the same 'puppy sofa' I used in yesterday's post. These are chow puppies at 8 weeks, and every time I see this image, I smile. The naughty puppy on the right, I'm sure, was thinking, "I really wanted to behave but there were so many other options!" I lit this set with a medium sized soft box, and instead of using a handheld flash meter to determine the exposure, which I usually do, I simply used the image on the LCD screen on the back of the camera. It acted like a polaroid test shot that studio photographers used for years for the instant feedback to show exposure and shadows. I shot with a 50mm normal lens, and my settings were 1/60, f/20, and 160 ISO. I was using a Speedotron power pack.
