France has a seemingly endless number of beautiful towns and villages, and this one -- Colmar -- is one of the most photogenic. In summer it is adorned with flowers, and like all urban environments, it photographs most beautifully at dusk and twilight. When using daylight white balance, tones tend to go bluish at this time of evening. Many photographers prefer to mitigate cool tones by moving the color temperature slider in Lightroom or ACR toward warmer colors. In this case, I retained the blue/purple tones because I thought they enhanced this remarkable scene. I replaced the sky in Photoshop because the original sky was white, but otherwise this image is unmanipulated. My settings were 2.5 seconds, f/11, and 200 ISO. I used a 70-200mm lens set to 78mm on a tripod.
