I photographed these backlit icicles in Iceland last December. I had never seen Christmas lights backlighting ice before, and I thought it was exceptionally captivating. To fill the frame with the colored ice, I used a 500mm focal length because between myself and the house supporting the ice was a large snowdrift. I didn't feel like trudging through the deep snow to get closer. I didn't have a tripod with me, so I handheld the shot, and the settings were 1/125, f/7.1, and 5000 ISO. In post-processing, I applied Topaz DeNoise AI and Topaz Sharpen AI.
