These structures are the royal concubine tombs in Jaiselmer, India. The architecture is beautiful and makes wonderful images when photographed in low angled sunlight, but I felt to make this composition particularly compelling, a model was needed. I had arranged models for other locations in India, but not for here. So, at our hotel, I hired a dancer to pose and spin for my group. Because I preconceived this composite, I climbed up on a marble platform to photograph the dancer from an elevated angle. When I combined her into the architecture shot, the scene was believable since I shot the tombs from the same angle. My settings for the architecture picture were 1/80, f/9, and 320 ISO. I used a 24-105mm lens for both images.
