I took this shot in Agra Fort, just a stone's throw from the Taj Mahal in India. It's a beautiful passageway, and I thought it needed a colorful human element to make the image more visually compelling. So, I arranged this model and found wonderful backgrounds and environments in which to photograph her. The reason why I didn't have the young women centered in the arch was because I didn't want this image to look like a setup. I wanted to imply it was simply a quick and candid shot. I asked the model to walk away from the camera and captured her as she was moving so the picture wasn't so static. The settings were 1/160, f/11, and 1250 ISO.
