One of the topics I'll be demonstrating in my Next Level Photoshop training starting this weekend is 'lighting effects'. In this picture, the spot light on the background wall was added digitally, and the overhead light on the models -- whom I had photographed on the street in Venice -- was also added in post-processing. Even the spill of the light on the floor in front of the models was added later. This interior is a twilight shot of the Hermitage in St. Petesburg, and of course the models were combined with this environment after meticulously selecting them using the pen tool. With the ornamentation of the costumes, this took some time. The investment in time, though, guaranteed the composite looks real. The settings for the interior shot were 1/125, f/5, 2000 ISO, and I used a 16-35mm lens at 20mm.
