I took this shot in the historic district of Deerfield, Massachusetts. I wasn't really sure if these were the largest pumpkins in the world or, quite possibly, alien seed pods (ever see the movie 'Invasion of the Body Snatchers'?). So, just to be sure, I kept a safe distance. This is a 7-frame HDR composite, and I used a 18mm focal length to exaggerate the dominance of the foreground. My settings were 1/50, f/5.0, and 640 ISO. In the upper right corner, the sky was mostly white with an unattractive tree so I replaced that section with a tree I'd photographed nearby. Notice how much depth of field there is in this picture despite the use of a fairly large lens aperture. That happened because of the use of a wide angle lens.
