I posted a shot from Namibia last week, and here is another one. This scene is from Sossusvlei in the heart of the Namib Desert where there are striking compositions everywhere. My focal length for this shot was 214mm on a 100-400mm lens, and the aperture was f/7.1. In order to maintain complete depth of field, which I feel was essential, I used focus stacking. Had the background been even slightly out of focus, the picture would have been a failure in my opinion. I can appreciate that some of you might think the sliver of blue sky in the upper right corner is distracting, but I included it purposely because of the color contrast as well as the strong diagonal line that defines the demarcation between the orange and the blue.
