This is Dubrovnik, Croatia, at dusk. I used a 24mm wide angle and positioned the tripod-mounted camera about 3 feet from the foreground flowers. There was no wind at all, and this enabled me to use a 15 second exposure at f/18 with an ISO setting of 320. I had to have the small aperture to insure depth of field, and at the same time the lengthy shutter speed was responsible for the light trails from traffic lights far below. When I travel, I always look for elevated vantage points. A hill, a rooftop restaurant, an upper floor of a hotel, an observation deck, a cable car ride -- all of these places afford views that offer wonderful shots of the area. I used daylight white balance so the sunset colors in the sky would be correct.
