This is an ocelot I photographed in the Pantanal region of Brazil. The exposure makes this picture look like I had plenty of light, but it was late in the day and on the forest flood, light is diminished. I had to use 2500 ISO to make the shutter speed fast enough (1/250) to get a sharp picture. I took this in 2016 when I was still quite concerned about noise; I would have preferred a faster shutter but didn't want to raise the ISO more. I used a 400mm focal length, and I purposely got as close to the ground as possible for this eye-to-eye perspective. In post-processing, I used Topaz DeNoise AI followed by Topaz Sharpen AI.
