This is a fabulous staircase in a bookstore in Porto, Portugal. I include this in my Spain/Portugal photo tour, and I was supposed to be there at the end of last month but due to the virus situation, the trip was postponed until next year. This interior has become so popular that the bookstore now charges people just to come inside (the fee is deducted from any book you purchase). I had arranged to bring my tour group inside before they opened, and we had the whole place to ourselves for an hour without any other people. To get this shot, you can't use a tripod because it's necessary to lean out over a railing to get a downward shot of the striking design. One of the two main ingredients to stunning photography is graphic design (the other one is lighting), and this staircase is all about that. I used a 14mm Canon lens, and my settings were 1/40, f/2.8, and 2000 ISO. I never would have used such a slow shutter while hand holding the lens if I'd been using a longer lens. But the 14mm is so wide, movement isn't seen in the pictures at 1/40th of a second.
