The sand dunes in the Namib-Naukluft National Park in Namibia are incredible, and they are particularly dramatic at sunrise and sunset. I sought out the ones with the least vegetation because I liked the ultra-clean and completely graphic look. With a long lens, the contours and S-curves are compressed into essentially a seemingly flat plane. It makes for striking pictures. This picture is a combination of two dune shots. Everyone gets the standard dramatic shots here with a saturated blue sky, orange dunes, and awesome curves. I wanted to go beyond what other photographers do and create something different. My settings for both pictures were 1/80, f/40, 1250 ISO, and I used the Canon 100-400mm lens with a 1.4x teleconverter giving me 560mm of focal length.
