This is one of my favorite images. It's a Gypsy vanner horse and a model dressed in 19th century attire. I put this composite together before we had Topaz Mask AI and other sophisticated tools in Photoshop. I enlarged the image to 600% and used the pen tool around each hair and every detail of the subjects. When I put the new background in, there was still a very thin, dark line around the blonde horse hair, so I then went around each hair, again at 600%, with the dodge tool to lighten that line. All of that took three hours. I then combined the horse and rider with a sunrise shot over the pond in front of my house so the lighting made sense (in the original shot, the subjects were backlit from a low angled sun). Finally, I used the plugin 'Flood' to add the watery reflection. My settings for the original image of the Gypsy vanner, photographed in a corral, were 1/1000, f/7.1, and 200 ISO.
