I set this shot up for one of my photo tour groups in India. I arranged for the model and chose the impressive Agra Fort as the shooting location. The morning lighting was perfect because the sun rays showed up well against the shadows. I took this on film before I went digital in 2005, and the medium format camera I used for 25 years, the Mamiya RZ 67, really needed a tripod and cable release to be used correctly. I shot this with a lens aperture of f/32 to make sure I had complete depth of field, and that made the shutter speed slow -- 1/15th in this case. I asked the model to take a step and then freeze to insure she was tack sharp. I wanted telephoto compression, so I used a 250mm Mamiya lens which is equivalent to about a 135mm telephoto in the full frame digital format. I used Fujichrome Provia 100 -- 100 ISO -- for the shot.
