I photographed this peacock in the Bali Bird Park during one of my Indonesia photo tours. Everyone wants to capture this amazing bird with its tail feathers spread, and that is indeed a pretty shot, but this view shows a very different perspective of the stunning tail feathers that emphasizes the remarkable length of those feathers.. I think the tropical background enhances the photograph. This pose lasted for only a few moments and then the bird flew off. I used a 100-400mm telephoto, and my settings were 1/160, f/5, and 1600 ISO. Note how vibrant the colors are. This shows you don't need bright sun to underscore color. Actually, the opposite is true. Diffused light outdoors is what makes natural color really pop.
