Happy 4th of July

Happy Independence Day. This photograph is a composite of five images: the tall ship, the full moon, the background smoke explosions, the fireworks on the left, and the two bursts (which is one shot) on the right. You can combine fireworks with a dark background without making any kind of complex selection simply by pasting the fireworks over a background image and then choosing the blend mode 'lighten'. The black sky drops out and you are left with the fireworks burst and the background image.
