Heceta Light on the Oregon Coast near Florence is unique in that it was built at the base of a hill, and a short trail up the hill in the forest allows a birds-eye view of the light house in the context of the coastline. Even though the sky was mostly white, it did have detail that could be brought out by using the 'graduated filter' tool in Adobe Camera Raw to darken the original sky. This is essentially a graduated neutral density filter applied after the picture was taken. The only other post-processing work I did was to clone out some tourists. My settings here were 1/160, f/11, and 800 ISO. I used a 16mm focal length for the shot.
