This is Vernazza, Italy on the northwest coastline of Cinque Terre. I hiked up a local trail to gain this elevated perspective, and in post-processing I added vibrance and saturation before I applied the plug-in Topaz Impression to add the painterly look. The Italian villages along this famous coastline lend themselves to artistic interpretation. The way the homes have been nestled together and constructed into the hillsides is beautiful, and the bright colors are like eye candy. When various Photoshop plug-ins are applied to abstract any of the five villages that make up Cinque Terre, the results could easily have been painted by any one of the famous impressionist painters of the Renaissance. My settings for the original capture were 1/250, f/5.6, and 1250 ISO, and I used a 100-400mm Canon telephoto to photograph the scene.
