I know this is the wrong kind of plane to suggest the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, but I didn't have any stock images of US military planes from the late 30's or early 40's shot in the right light at the correct angle. I photographed the napalm-like wall of fire at an airshow in Smyrna, Tennessee, and then I cut and pasted the plane in front of it. To make the wing appear to be on fire, I cloned fire from another picture. The image I used for that was a fire-breathing performance that is now a regular feature at my semi-annual frog and reptile workshop held in St. Louis. I needed the horizontal spray of fire rather than billowing smoke and flame seen in the background.
