Macro subjects don't always have to be photographed with frame-filling compositions. As you can see in this picture, by including the entire succulent plant plus some of the surrounding environment, I've given context and visual interest to this picture of a poison dart frog in Costa Rica. The diffused lighting was in my favor because there was a minimum of contrast, and that punched the saturation of colors. I used a 24-105mm lens for this shot and f/11 so I had complete depth of field.
