This is St. Lawrence Church in Almancil, Portugal. The use of blue tiles to completely cover the interior walls and ceiling make it particularly beautiful. I took this shot with available light and used a 14mm wide angle lens to emcompass as much of the stunning detail as possible. My settings were 1/80, f/4.0, and 1600 ISO. When shooting interiors, I only use HDR when contrast is significant and I know shadow and highlight detail will be lost. With a situation like this one, the lighting was diffused and dispersed pretty evenly throughout the church. Therefore, this is simply a single shot. I really love my Sigma 14mm lens because it's very sharp and, most importantly, its maximum lens aperture is an amazing f/1.8. This comes in very handy in very dark interior environments.
