I photographed this sumptuous bedroom chamber in Fontainebleau Palace just south of Paris. It was the home to many French kings as well as Napolean. I then combined the interior shot with a masked model from Venice that I captured during carnival. The French are so fond of elaborate costumes (about 60% of all the costumed models during Carnival in Venice are French) that I thought this was appropriate. The model is Mona Rose, one of the most creative costume makers I've seen. I used the quick selection tool in Photoshop to separate Mona from her original background. My settings for the handheld shot of the bed chamber were 1/100, f/4, 2500 ISO, and I used a 16-35mm wide angle set to the widest focal length. I took this with tungsten white balance.
