I am starting my Next Level Online Photoshop Training course this morning, and I was experimenting with several images to demonstrate to the students. One of the techniques I explain is ‘lighting effects’ because you can actually introduce studio-type illumination into a photograph. In this case, I composted two Venetian models -- Mona Rose and her sister -- into a Russian palace, and with the introduction of the digital light directly above the women, the image took on a much more dramatic look. To create this type of lighting in reality would cost many thousands of dollars in fees to the government, a scaffolding to place the lights, and a great deal of time. In Photoshop, this took me about one minute. The original selection of the models was done with the pen tool working at 300% to make sure it was perfect. I used the burn tool to add the drop shadow on the floor.
