I took this picture of St. Andrews ruins in Scotland when the sky was white. I don't show the original here, but you know that white skies are distracting, visually annoying, and they seriously degrade the visual impact of an image. The storm clouds I added make the shot. Therefore, I suggest that if you don't have one already, create a folder of skies. Take pictures of all kinds of weather, clouds, and other significant natural phenomena such as rainbows, lightning, and a sun rays. I especially like dark, gray clouds that look like they threaten rain. These can be used effectively to replace white skies because the lighting makes sense. Under a white sky, landscapes and architecture are lit with diffused light -- the same kind of light you'd get from storm clouds.

Bonnie Davidson - I've always wanted to be able to do that. Have even signed up for Photoshop classes, that were cancelled. Where would I look to learn how to change the sky in an image?
