This is one of my favorite images from many trips to Africa. My group was having breakfast when my local guide spotted this leopard drinking from a small pond just below the dining hall. We forgot about breakfast, ran to the Land Rovers, and raced down to the water. Amazingly, the cat was still drinking and for the next 10 minutes posed for us while intermittently drinking. I used a 400mm focal length, and the settings were 1/500, f/8, and 640 ISO. The fastest frame rate on the camera I was using at the time was 14 fps, so that's what I selected so I could capture every nuance of the movement. I was grateful for the shadowless light. This is a full frame composition -- I didn't crop it.
