I photographed this lynx kitten many years ago with my Mamiya RZ 67, a medium format film camera. Photographing wildlife with a fully manual camera was quite the challenge (manual exposure, manual focus, and manual film advance), but with very young baby animals it's somewhat easier because they don't move as fast as adults. I shot everything on a tripod in those days because the whole point of using such a camera was to capture maximum sharpness, and the fastest shutter speed on the Mamiya was 1/400 which I didn't use very much because the fastest film I had was 100 ISO. For photographing wildlife, I always used Fujichrome Provia 100 in 220 size which gave me twenty shots on a roll of film. Contrast that to today where we get 1000+ shots before changing cards! I remember using a 350mm telephoto for this shot, and the settings were unrecorded but they were probably 1/250 and f/5.6.
