I took this ultra wide angle photo of a 1936 Cord at a car show in Dayton, Ohio this past weekend. For classic cars, I usually don't use this kind of wild distortion, but I was looking for something 'different', and this very unique automobile (this is the only one in the world with a customized extended front end) was perfect for this kind of look. The original background, of course, was a mess. There were other people, other cars, a big white tent, and an overexposed sky. In order to find a suitable image to replace the background, I had to choose a picture that was taken with an extreme wide angle so the perspectives matched. In this case, I had used a 16-35mm lens (set to 16mm) for the landscape in Ireland.
If I chose a landscape (or cityscape) taken with a normal lens or a telephoto, the picture wouldn't look believable at all.
