My 8 week old cocker spaniel puppy fell asleep on one of my shoes after nibbling on it, and I ran to get my camera before he woke up. Notice that even though the lighting is quite low -- it's window light and Teddy was about 10 feet from the glass -- I didn't use flash. On-camera flash would have destroyed the shadows, the texture, and the artistry of this shot. I had to raise the ISO to 1000 in order to have a decent shutter speed of 1/80th of a second, but that was the price I had to pay to retain this perfect light. I set my exposure mode to 'P' because I didn't have enough light to use a small aperture with Av, but the most important parts of this are -- Teddy's face and the shoe.
