I didn’t have the Internet for 3 days because my group and I were in a tented camp adjacent to the Masai Mara National Park in Kenya. The photography has been awesome. Because we were not inside the national park, we could go on night drives. On the first night, we encountered a pride of lions feeding on a wildebeest they’d killed earlier in the evening, and in the artificial light of a spot light the shots were exceptionally compelling. We could hear the bone crunching in the powerful jaws of this male lion, and that added to the experience. I used the tungsten white balance setting to match the warm light of the incandescent spot. Because we were fairly close to the lions -- about 18 feet -- the light was bright enough so I could use a relatively low ISO of 2500. Due to the inverse square law, had I been even a few feet further away, I’d be using 5000 or 6400 ISO and the pictures would be too noisy. My shutter was 1/125 and the lens aperture f/5.
