I photographed this 1929 Bugatti Type 46 Semi-Profile Coupe in a museum in Nashville, Tennessee. It was cordoned off with a rope, surrounded by people, and the original background was an uninteresting wall. Using the pen tool in Photoshop, I carefully made a precise selection around the car and included the flooring in the museum. By including the floor, I didn’t have to recreate the subtle shadows beneath the classic automobile. I then replaced the background with the interior of the Paris Opera House -- an elegant background for an elegant car. Note the lighting works in that the car was illuminated by interior lights just like the sumptuous marble interior of the 19th century opera. My settings for the picture of the car were 1/30, f/4.0, and 1250 ISO. I used a 24-105mm lens, and the camera was set to tungsten, or indoor, white balance.
